The Merchant of Venice – Founded in 2013 in Venice, Italy by the Vidal family, The Merchant of Venice is recognized as a refined perfume house that unites centuries-old Venetian traditions with modern perfumery art.
Venice has long been a central hub for trade routes; through the maritime routes known as the “Mude,” rare spices, exotic essences, woods, and resins were imported from Europe, Asia, and Africa. These raw materials laid the foundation for Venetian perfumery art and led to the formation of artisan guilds such as the Muschieri (perfumers) and Saoneri (soap makers).

With over a century of experience in perfumery, the Vidal family aimed to create a brand that honors Venice’s heritage. The compositions clearly reflect the city’s history, the glass artistry of Murano, and the legacy of Eastern trade routes.

Each fragrance is crafted with inspiration from Venice’s rich history, trade connections, and cultural identity.
The perfumes are formulated with rare and precious ingredients such as saffron, Indian woods, natural oud, amber, and myrrh.
